Writing Workshop for Judges

This 90-minute workshop for Trial Court judges will offer practical advice and specific suggestions on organizing and writing. In order to participate, registrants must complete a short writing exercise assigned by the instructors in advance. There will be general discussion of the exercise and critiques of individual submissions (although the authors will not be identified). The exercise will require reading a transcript of a motion to suppress hearing (which the Flaschner Judicial Institute will distribute to you) and writing findings of fact based on the evidence in the transcript.
