This full-day program for Massachusetts judges will look closely at sentencing law, sentencing dispositions, probation, and parole. The following topics will be covered:

• What Judges Need to Know About Parole
• Understanding Sentencing and Correctly Stating Sentencing Dispositions
• The Sentencing Guidelines

This useful and timely information will empower both new and experienced judges to issue better sentences. Chief Justice Jeffrey A. Locke, chair of the Massachusetts Sentencing Commission, will provide opening remarks. There will also be time allotted for Q&A and discussion with colleagues.
