Handling Motions for Summary Judgment (Zoom Program)

Judges will learn how to effectively approach Summary Judgment motions. The agenda will include:

• An Overview of Summary Judgment (Rule 56, Requirements for Filing and Timing, Pre-Hearing, Hearing, and Post-Hearing)
• Summary Judgment in the District Court
• Specific Case Examples
• Writing Summary Judgment Decisions

There will be time allotted for Q&A with colleagues.

As part of the Superior Court Newer Judges Seminar Series, some of this program will address Superior Court practice, but Judges from other Trial Court departments also will likely find the program of interest and are welcome to attend.
