Primer for Judges on Climate Science (In-Person Program)

Tuesday, June 10, 2025 | 12:00pm - 4:30pm EDT
Free

This is an in-person program.

Beyond strictly environmental laws, climate cases involve a wide variety of claims, involving constitutional, statutory, regulatory, and common law. The Sabin Center at Columbia University Law School has catalogued nearly 2,000 cases across the country where climate change law, policy, or science is a material issue of law or fact in the case, with dozens in Massachusetts. As the body of climate litigation grows, judges must consider complex scientific and legal questions, many of which are developing rapidly. Come hear from leading scientists, legal scholars, and your colleagues in the judiciary to learn more about how these issues are emerging in the courtroom.

Lunch will be provided. Registration is required, and space is limited.
