Bankruptcy Issues for Massachusetts Judges (Zoom Program)
Thursday, April 15, 2021 | 3:00pm - 4:30pm UTC
Taught by the Massachusetts Bankruptcy Judges, this Zoom program for new and experienced judges will focus on the intersection of bankruptcy with state law. In addition to learning bankruptcy basics, such as an identification of the roles of the “players” in bankruptcy court and the differences in the various chapters (7, 11 and 13), judges will learn (a) the impact and scope of the automatic stay on state court proceedings, both as to the debtor and non-debtor parties; (b) the impact and scope of the bankruptcy discharge; (c) the impact of state court judgments on non-dischargeability and claims adjudication proceedings; (d) a discussion of recent changes in federal law under the CARES Acts in light of COVID-19; (e) where to find and how to access Bankruptcy Court dockets; (f) and get your questions answered!
Every judge in attendance will receive a complimentary electronic copy of Bankruptcy Issues for State Trial Court Judges (Fourth Edition).
Tell us what you would like to learn! Feel free to submit questions for the faculty in advance by emailing: email@example.com.
