AI in the Courtroom: What Judges Need to Know (In-Person Program)
*This is an in-person program*
Co-sponsored with Crimson and the Trial Court Department of Research and Planning
Generative AI is now widely available to anyone, and it is changing how lawyers and self-represented litigants prepare and file their cases. “AI in the Courtroom: What Judges Need to Know” is a half-day educational program designed to equip Massachusetts judges with the knowledge they need to understand, evaluate, and respond to AI in the courtroom. The program will provide a practical introduction to generative AI and its use in litigation, while exploring the broader implications of AI for evidence, access to justice, and court administration.
It will provide an overview of the different types of generative AI technologies, examine recent decisions involving AI, and feature a panel discussion on emerging issues. The afternoon will conclude with demonstrations of AI-assisted legal work, giving judges a firsthand look at how these tools operate.
Don’t miss this timely opportunity to learn about Gen AI and what to do when it appears in your courtroom.
A buffet lunch will be provided. Seats are limited and registration is required. Questions? Please contact: programs@flaschner.org.
