The Flaschner Judicial Institute congratulates Chief Justice Heidi E. Brieger on her appointment by the Supreme Judicial Court to the position of Chief Justice of the Trial Court. Currently Chief Justice of the Superior Court, she will succeed Hon. Jeffrey A. Locke on December 22, 2023. Chief Justice Brieger was appointed as a judge to the Superior Court in 2012 and as Chief Justice in 2021. She has previously served as the regional administrative judge for civil business in Suffolk County and chair of the Superior Court Education Committee.
Chief Justice Brieger has been an avid Flaschner supporter by attending and presenting at numerous FJI programs. We look forward to continue working together to provide cutting-edge educational programs for Massachusetts judges.
