Is there another judicial institute in Massachusetts?
Yes, there are two separate judicial institutes in Massachusetts: the Flaschner Judicial Institute and the Judicial Institute of the Executive Office of the Trial Court. For more information about the Judicial Institute, please click here.
Who is eligible to attend Flaschner programs? Are they open to attorneys and/or the public?
While the majority of Flaschner programs are exclusively for active state and federal judges in Massachusetts, the Flaschner Institute will occasionally collaborate with CLE providers to offer bench/bar programming.
Are there registration fees for Flaschner programs?
Flaschner programs are free for judges to attend, however, for some programs, participants will be responsible for the costs of parking and/or meals. If this is the case, the program notice will mention this specifically.
Why doesn’t your website include the location of programs?
For security reasons, program locations are only available to judges. If you are a judge, please log in here to view full program information. Judges may also email us or call 617-226-1565 for program details.
Does Flaschner provide scholarships or stipends for judges to attend programs that other local or national organizations are sponsoring?
Unfortunately, without exception, Flaschner cannot and does not provide any scholarships or stipends for judges to attend non-Flaschner programs.

If a program is full, may I be placed on a waiting list?
Yes, we would be happy to take your name and place you on a waitlist. We would then notify you if a space becomes available.
