Who is eligible to attend Flaschner programs? Are they open to attorneys and/or the public?
While the majority of Flaschner Programs are exclusively for active state and federal judges in Massachusetts, the Flaschner Institute will periodically collaborate with CLE providers to offer bench/bar programming for both judges and attorneys.
Are there registration fees for Flaschner programs?
Flaschner programs are free for judges to attend, however, for some programs, participants will be responsible for the costs of parking and/or meals. If this is the case, the program brochure will typically mention this specifically.
Why doesn't your website include the location of programs?
For security reasons, we do not currently provide all the logistical details of our programs on this website. If you are a judge and would like additional program information, please call 617-226-1565 or email: programs@flaschner.org.
We are working toward having a password-protected portion of the website that will eventually
require judges to sign-in to access additional program information.
Does Flaschner provide scholarships or stipends for judges to attend programs that other local or national organizations are sponsoring?
Unfortunately, without exception, Flaschner cannot and does not provide any scholarships or stipends for judges to attend non-Flaschner programs.
I am a new judge in Massachusetts. How can I be added to your mailing list?

If a program is full, may I be placed on a waiting list?
Yes, we would be happy to take your name and place you on a waitlist. We would then notify you if a space becomes available.
What is an FJI number? If I don’t know my FJI number, how do I get it?
Flaschner assigns an identification number to all Massachusetts judges for registration purposes. The number usually appears on the mailing envelope over your name and address. If you do not know your FJI number, please feel free to call 617-226-1565 and ask a staff member to look it up for you.
